My
personal experiences with wine are rather limited but I have tried both red and
white wines. When I do drink wine, it’s
usually red wine but I have had white wine on several occasions. I like the tastes of both but they are
extremely different. I think reds have
more of a hearty taste while whites are a little fresher. I’ve had dessert wine and I really can’t stand
it; it’s just too sweet for me.
I
have only recently become interested in wine after studying abroad in Italy
over winter break. I had more wine in
two weeks than I have in my entire life.
We visited a winery, Castello di Verrazzano, just south of Florence
where we toured their cellars and had a wine tasting. It was an incredible trip and it made me much
more excited about wine.

I
really want to learn how to pair wines with food. I still have absolutely no idea which wines
go the best with different types of food.
I also want to know about the vinification process. It will also be interesting to learn about
the different regions where these wines originate from. I’m especially excited to participate in the
many wine tastings offered by the Vintage Cellar this semester!
